Project Overview:

We embarked on an extraordinary journey: tasked with creating the first-ever photo narrative project centered on the lived experiences of Native American and Indigenous Muslims (NAIMS) in the United States. Our mission was clear: to authentically capture and amplify the voices of this overlooked community, shedding light on their diverse narratives and challenges. We meticulously directed the art and creativity behind the project.

By blending documentary photography with artistic expression and collaborating closely with cultural advisors, we created a safe and inclusive space for participants to authentically share their stories. Each photograph vividly captures the nuances of their experiences, aiming to empower and foster cultural understanding through compelling visual storytelling.

  1. Amplify Voices: Ensure Native American and Indigenous Muslim narratives are heard and respected.

  3. Empower Participants: Provide a platform for authentic storytelling and agency.
  4. Document Heritage: Preserve cultural traditions and identities through visual documentation.
